(Ventura, Ca) The Ventura County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (VCDSA) has voted to endorse Antonio Sabato Jr. in his candidacy for Congressional District 26 in 2018.
The VCDSA represents Deputy Sheriffs, Senior Deputies, Sergeants and District Attorney Investigators and has a membership of about 750 active duty and 350 retired members. Management level members include the Sheriff, the Chief and Deputy Chief D.A. Investigators, and the Assistant Sheriffs, Commanders and Captains.
In their endorsement of Sabato, the VCDSA President, Investigator Scott Peterson, stated, “We believe that Mr. Sabato demonstrated the commitment to protect and support the needs of law enforcement in these changing times.”
The press release went on to say, “Our Board of Directors voted to endorse Mr. Sabato only after he made it clear through his words and actions that he will fight against the policies and laws that have made the jobs of our members increasingly more difficult, frustrating and unsafe.”
In response to the endorsement, Mr. Sabato commented, “It’s a privilege and an honor to be endorsed by those who sacrifice so much for our safety. I am forever grateful and eager to start working for you.”
